4 or 5 new signings?
The below was mentioned on the official site:

"I think West Ham has a very good team. I know all of the players and I saw most of the games that they played last season, so I am sure that, with the players we have in this moment in the squad, and bringing maybe another four or five players in, we are going to have a strong team.”

Does Pellegrini have a war chest to spend this summer; I very much doubt it but realistically, who would you sign this summer?

For me, we should be signing young players full of pace and the following areas need to be addressed:

GK
CB
FB
CM
Winger

Nothing to do with Pellegrini saying this, no? ;-)

Re: 4 or 5 new signings?
Out strikeforce doesn't exactly look potent either:

Arnautovic
Hernandez
Carroll
Hugill

Especially if 1 or 2 of them are off (hopefully we can finally get rid of Carroll)

Re: 4 or 5 new signings?
Arnautovic, Hernandez and Carroll at his best is a really potent strike force that many other clubs would give their right arm for.

Aren't you going to introduce yourself? How rude!

You'll fit in well

Agreed Coffee.

But i would be tempted to wave goodbye to Carroll. His injury record is a joke, which is a shame because he could have been brilliant for us in my opinion.

GK is the least of our worries, far more pressing positions to fix issues with.

Re: 4 or 5 new signings?
Rivs

we currently have ONE senior keeper on the books, who has one year left on his deal and has pretty much indicated that if he isn't playing then he won't sign an extension. I'd suggest the area is more important than you are suggesting.

Re: 4 or 5 new signings?
Centre half and defensive midfielder of serious quality are must have's, but Arnautovic and Lanzini aside, every other player is replaceable.

Get back in for Carvhalo unless it really isn't possible anymore.

Re: 4 or 5 new signings?
Let the following go:

Byram 5m
Cresswell 10m
Reid 10m
Kouyate 8m
Snodgrass 8m
Antonio 15m
Obiang 12m
Fernandes 8m
Hugill 6m
Carroll 10m

92m IN + 50m 'War chest' - 142m Budget

Get in:

Carvalho 40m
Dendoncker 15m
Fredericks 15m (or is he av on a free?)
Cairney 15m
Mitrovic 25m??
Luke Shaw 25m

That will do for starters... have to hope Fulham lose on Saturday.

We could do with one experienced CB (Ginge!) as backup but I would like to see Rice and Ogbonna given the CB pairing long term. Reece Oxford has returned from Germany, let's see how he develops under Pellegrini. Also Dendoncker can play CB.

I'd keep Antonio, see what Manuel can get out of him

Re: 4 or 5 new signings?
The squad is fine if unbalanced. 4-5 top quality first team players is enough for next season.

Replacing the whole squad so that you have strangers playing with each other is asking for trouble.

Troy McClure 3:41 Tue May 22
Re: 4 or 5 new signings?
HEATON - Burnley
FREDERICKS - Fulham
CARVALHO - Sporting Lisbon
TRAORE - Boro
DEMBELE - Celtic

Yes fucking please.

Not exactly replacing the whole team / squad... of those listed in my post only Cresswell and Kouyate have been regular starters this season.

Re: 4 or 5 new signings?
I'm just wondering how you play 4-4-2 in this league without an amazing set of midfielders. I mean, seriously top draw midfielders is the only way.

And we cant afford them.

So I'd be interested to see how this all works out.

Re: 4 or 5 new signings?
Ludo your letting the 2bobs off the hook imho. What about the £20m for ayew and £4.3m for fonte, £5m approx left over from Payet, loads more if you dig deeper that were sold and never replaced £10m Tomkins, Norveidt £8m.

We should be spending £100m net plus any from player sales, especially in the new managers first season to make an impact and get the fans inside, why bother paying someone a £30m contract otherwise.

Re: 4 or 5 new signings?
threesixty 3:50 Tue May 22

I see no reason why we can't have a midfield including:

Carvalho & Dendoncker (DM)

Lanzini & Cairney (AM)

Arnautovic

That should be good enough and affordable.
